Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be able to bring you an exciting excerpt from I DO NOT TRUST YOU, a brand new thriller by Melinda Metz and Laura J. Burns! There's something about thriller books that always put me on the edge of my seat and I always appreciate how they make me want to find out what's going to happen to the characters. Read More
Children of Blood and Bone not only made me cry at the end, but it managed to expertly tell a story where I was invested in the story and its characters. This was one of my most anticipated reads for 2018 and it did not disappoint at all.
I was so shocked when I was sent an ARC, I literally almost happy cried as much as when I was teary eyed with sadness when I finished the story. I even did a livetweet reading of Children of Blood and Bone which you can view by clicking the link here. You can also read my immediate thoughts from a very tired Joel at 5:21am after reading here.
I have no doubt in my mind that next to Strange the Dreamer and Six of Crows, Children of Blood and Bone sits as one of my favourite books of all time. Read More
I took pleasure in consuming the story of Xifeng and her ascension to the Imperial Palace. The interest I took in court intrigue, the world and the rivalry between the concubines was enough to keep me reading. The prose was beautiful and captivating, it was SO ELEGANT!! The descriptions of the many parts of the Imperial Palace and the Great Forest were so appealing and beautiful, I loved the world that I was exploring.
A fair warning to say however that this story isn’t for the faint hearted as there are a few graphic descriptions within the story. However, they helped paint a vivid image in my mind, no matter how disturbing it might’ve been! Let’s just hope no one wants to come after my heart for some lifeblood. Read More
Hey everyone! It has been a while since I’ve posted on the blog and I’d like to start by apologizing. I became unexpectedly busy for the last two months of the year and there was a lot for me to get done.
But now it’s January 2018, a time for people to reflect and make plans for themselves over the next year. As someone who always seeks ways of self-improvement, I find New Years Resolutions to be an exciting time because I make goals in alignment with who I want to become by the end of the year.
Whilst I’m thrilled to finally have 2018 here, I first want to take the opportunity to reflect upon 2017 because it was one of the most challenging years of my life. Read More
Hey everyone! This is my first Blog Tour that I’m on and I’m so excited to be sharing Jacqueline Silvester’s latest release of Wunderkids, Part One of Wildwood Academy. On this day of the Blog Tour, Jacqueline and I have both teamed up to figure out some awesome and easy YA costumes that you can easily put together for any Halloween bash. There is a part of the novel where there is a big Halloween party, and it mostly inspired this list if there were to be a Halloween Party for YA bookworms. Most of the stuff you should already have in your wardrobes or they’re very inexpensive to buy in shops! Read More
After posting the question in one of my Instagram stories, you decided that you'd love to see a post explaining NaNoWriMo with some of the basics of it! I've had so much fun participating in NaNoWriMo since 2013 and it's definitely been one of the most productive times of the year in terms of writing.
NaNoWriMo or (Na)tional (No)vel (Wri)ting (Mo)nth is a 30-day challenge where participants aim to write 50,000 words in the month of November. Statistically, that's 1,667 words a day! If you're under the age of 13, you can also join the Young People's NaNoWriMo where you can set your own word count! On the other hand, Camp NaNoWriMo is where you can set your own word counts, but this is during the months of April and July. For this post, we'll be focusing a bit more on November's NaNoWriMo.
