In The Reading Quest, you have the opportunity to level up and gain extra health! Honestly, this feels like an RPG game and I’m too excited. Every person starts with 10 EXP and you will level up with every 50 EXP you gain. EXP can be earnt by:
- Every book read in relation to a quest = 10 EXP
- Unless it’s a graphic novel or manga, then it’s 5 EXP.
- But, if it’s a book by a marginalized author, it earns you 20 EXP.
- Complete your character quest = 50 EXP
- Complete additional character quests = 30 EXP.
Additionally, everyone begins with 10 HP too. The way to earn HP is as follows:
- Every 10 pages read / 20 minutes listened = 1 HP
- Unless it’s a graphic novel or manga, then it’s 20 pages = 1 HP.
- Meaningful tweets with #TheReadingQuest = 1HP (Max of 20HP for Social)
- Meaningful Photos with #TheReadingQuest = 1HP (Max of 20HP for Social)
The purple squares represent the mandatory quests while the blue squares are side quests and can be attempted at any time in the challenge.
Now here comes my TBR. It’s quite a lot of books, some of which I don’t own yet but I’m planning to purchase soon. (These will be marked with an asterisk *)
I have to complete the Mage Quest before I can pursue the Knight, Rogue or Bard quests but I am free to do the Side Quests whenever I want. Also, I do not have to repeat corner quests which is great!
